What is it?
Acupuncture is a key component in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). In the TCM system, the body is seen as a delicate balance of two opposing and inseparable forces: yin and yang. Yin represents the cold, slow, or passive principle, while yang represents the hot, excited, or active principle. Traditional Chinese Medicine sees that health is achieved by maintaining the body in a "balanced state" and that disease is due to an internal imbalance of yin and yang. This imbalance leads to blockage in the flow of qi (vital energy) along pathways known as meridians. There are 12 main meridians and 8 secondary meridians and that there are more than 2,000 acupuncture points on the human body that connect with them. Needles are placed on those points to modify or clear out blockages or restrictions in the body's energy system. It helps to restore a healthy energy flow in the body.
How Acupuncture Works?
Acupuncture produces its effects through regulating the nervous system, thus aiding the activity of pain-killing biochemical such as endorphins and immune system cells at specific sites in the body. Studies have shown that acupuncture may alter brain chemistry by changing the release of neurotransmitters and neurohormones, thus affecting the parts of the central nervous system related to sensation and involuntary body functions, such as immune reactions and processes that regulate a person's blood pressure, blood flow, and body temperature.
There is very little pain associated with the needle insertion and it is free of side effects. A majority of patients experience a pleasant and relaxing state of being, and sometimes they fall into a restful nap.
Benefits
Acupuncture is helpful for a wide variety of health problems, for better energy flow and for balance. It has been effectively used for the treatment of back pain, headache, migraine, arthritis and sports injuries. However, acupuncture provides more than pain relief. It is helpful in treating anxiety, depression, insomnia, digestive problems, hormonal imbalances, menstrual cramps, weight control, infertility and much, much more.
The acupuncturist will come up with a highly individualized acupuncture treatment plan after meeting you and examining you carefully. The exam includes looking at your tongue, checking your pulse, and asking you many questions about your health prior to deciding on your specific treatment.

CUPPING THERAPY
Cupping therapy is used in traditional Chinese medicine to release congestion. The technique will use heat to suck out toxins and accumulated stress and tensions. Cups are placed on the skin and a suction gun is used to create vacuum inside the cups. Leaving the cups on the skin for a few minutes will turn the skin red. This is an indication that circulation has been brought to the surface. The suction will increase blood flow and will release rigid soft tissues and muscles.

FACIAL REJUVENATION ACUPUNCTURE
Also known as Cosmetic Acupuncture, Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is a virtually painless, non surgical method of reducing the signs of the aging process. The technique combines acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine to erase years off your face.
Since muscle groups are addressed as well as the acupuncture points, the face lifts itself - via the acupuncture points - through the muscles toning and tightening action. The needles also stimulate blood circulation, which improves facial color. Fine lines may be entirely erased, deeper lines reduced and bags around the neck and eyes firmed. In combination with Chinese herbal masks, the treatment reduces puffiness by eliminating excess fluids and improving metabolism.
Facial treatments tighten pores, improve muscle tone and dermal contraction, increase collagen production and affect its distribution. Moisture in the skin and evenness of skin color will be balanced by increasing local circulation of blood and lymph to the face. Any stress that is evident in the face will be reduced.
Most importantly, Facial Rejuvenation acupuncture brings out your innate beauty and radiance. Though Facial Rejuvenation acupuncture can sometimes be referred to as an Acupuncture Facelift, it is more than just a cosmetic procedure.
